There's been plenty of speculation as to how the Swiss watchmaking industry will handle the threat of smartwatches. In Tag Heuer's case, the company has decided that if you can't beat 'em, you might as well join 'em, which is why the firm has announced that it'll make the first "luxury" Android Wear device. In addition to working with Google, Tag will enlist the services of Intel to help build the digital elements of the unit.
The first watch from this partnership will arrive at the "end of the year" and a mischievous Jean-Claude Biver said that it could be any time between October to December. The head of watches for luxury group LVMH added that while the features and pricing were known, the company wouldn't be revealing anything about its product until closer to launch.
